Picked up a 1966 model 14-2 what's it worth?
I have recently picked up a 1966 model 14-2 k-38 Masterpiece, new in box with tools and cleaning kit still in package. Wondering what it is worth. And this is my first time posting, so if someone can tell me how to put pics I will.

Prices for model 14's can be all over the place considering where you live. BUT, with box and tools, I would say an easy $650. Maybe more.

All 38 Special S&W K Fames except snub nose are wonderful revolvers are not as appreciated as their 357 Magnum big brothers so I figure it's worth and $550 to a collector and $500 to a shooter. It does depend where you live but I bought a mint 14-3 with 6 inch barrel for $350 a few years.

That 14-2 is beautiful! I'm not savvy enough to give you a value, but if I could get one like that in the $600 - $650 range, I'd feel good about it.

Good job with the picture - glad you finally got it posted.
Nice revolver. The identifying dash 2 item is clearly seen in the photo - absent cylinder stop screw - as well as the left hand threaded extractor rod (also present on the dash 1). Very nice looking diamond Magna stocks.
This revolver was a good find. Congratulations!

Best indicator is what you paid for it, that was what it was worth to you.
What did you pay for it?

$400.00 for the 14-2 I think I'll hold on to this one. I picked it up off the original owners son, he inherited it when his dad passed. Also picked up a 1967 Ruger super single six convertible .22/.22Mag in original box and card board sleeve in 99% condition

Mine was $450 off GB last year.
In the box with 3Ts.
Unfortunately, Bubba had carved up the factory diamond target stocks, so they needed replacement.
