Chiefs Special Model 36
Last week I bought a m36 Blued .38Spl 2" s/n 678xxx.In the box with paperwork, cleaning rod with brush in plastic sleeve.Gun is I would say 98%it has been fired very little.Can someone pinpoint year of production, also did pistol come with a screwdriver? I paid $400.Thank you.Sorry I do not have pictures.

$400 is a good price and it did not come with a Screwdriver.Only Guns with adjustable sights came with the Screwdrivers.

Indeed, $400 is a very good price. Guns as you described are moving, and quickly I might add, in the $600 neighborhood.

The SCSW is pretty vague on that SN. At best somewhere between 1950 and 1969. I'd guess mod 60's.

Just a comment, My model 60 from the early 70's, came with a screw driver, bore "mop" and rod in a sealed plastic bag. I kept it that way in the original blue cardboard box.

I think $400 is a really good price for the pistol alone and then throw in all the extras, then you got it at a really great price. GREAT shag! I found on the internet a SCSW page that showed the S/N range starting in 1962 is 295000 and in 1969 ended at 786544. Extrapolate and it was probably manufactured in 1968, however there are a number of variables, but I would say 1968 ISH. Just my humble opinion and non common core math.
