My bet is that was a lawmans side arm. Just look at the grips there is only one way that kind of wear occurs many miles, and years riding in a holster, in all kinds of weather, and all kinds of circumstances. I bet it winds up being one of the most accurate guns you own.

No thread hijack intended. But, respectfully, are not even close to having the "worst" Model 15.

Here's is one of mine that is a great shooter and occupies a valued spot in my home defense arsenal.



It's a 15-3 in the 6K9xxxx range.

Could have been a suicide gun. Or maybe a poor attempt at refinishing?
