Research on a 10-5
I finally got a letter that was a single unit shipment and provided the person and address that it was delivered to.
How do I start to find this person? Sent to Deputy U.S. Marshall
Robert Haislip, DC Court House, Wash. DC. 10-5,blue, 4", RB,
March 25, 1963. Thank you fellow researchers.

Well, I did a google search for him and came up with a PDF for that mentioned him but I couldn't attach a link. Do a web search and maybe you'll find it.

Likely as not, he's no longer among the living. If an internet search is unproductive, you might contact the U. S. Marshall's Service and ask if they can help you locate information about him. They probably won't want to, but you never know unless you ask. I'm not sure I'd bother. Another possible source of information: http://usmsassoc.com/usmsassoc-home.aspx

I'm not sure I'd bother either, if the point is merely to let this former deputy US Marshall know that you have his old gun. Hard to know how such a contact would be received or perceived. Just my opinion. Best wishes.

Nail on the head, Jim. Again. I wouldn't do it either for the very reasons you stated. Best wishes,
