Default 1978 model 60

I bet I get various opinions but I need them. Earlier in the week I posted on the 80 plus thread of a 1984 3 inch new 60 I bought. Never fired Jovino gun but not proper box. Yesterday I purchased a 2 inch 60 from the same estate, matching box, tools, still wrapped. Not fired. Smith told me yesterday it's a 78. Sn r213 2xx. My issue is I want to use the guns I like shooting my guns. Does firing ,taking care of them depreciate their value much? I know these aren't high dollar but curious. Thanks.
