Model 13-1 P&R, PD marked goodness
I just got this gun off of layaway at the LGS.
It is in great shape and is my first Model 13. Price before tax was $469.99.
It is marked for the Longview, WA police department, and doesn't have much wear at all. It came with some Pachmayr rubber grips. The PC magnas are "on loan" from one of my Model 10s.
In addition to the gun, I got a neat little vintage Bucheimer holster (Tom Threepersons style) that fits 4" K frames. I found it in the used holster bin.
The serial is: D816816 (kinda odd that it repeats) Can someone tell me when this beauty shipped?
Thanks.

I don't have the book, (bought .22's instead) but someone will tell you. That is a very nice looking 13! Let us know how it performs at the range! Bob

That is a good looking revolver, congrats. I'm surprised it has so little wear for a police revolver. Nicely done.

According to the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson serial numbers:
D750001 through D870000 were shipped 1975/1976. Nice M13, congrats!

That is so cool I cannot tell you! I live here and had a chance at a Longview PD Model 10 a few years ago but didn't get there in time. Congrats!
