Which 66 too shoot????
Hello everyone , I know this has been asked a million times and ive viewed probably all the threads on the subject but:
I needed a .357 too carry so i bought a NIB 66-2 TTT , super clean and nice gun, but i liked it so much i have since bought a 66 no dash and 66-1 also nib not ttt though both super clean also, so clean they dont even have a turn line on the cylinder.
My dilemma is do i carry one of these and devalue it or which one should i carry? im partial too the 66-2 not only due too its TTT but the others are earlier and maybe slightly more valuable??
Will be some time before i can afford tooo buy another gun (shooter grade?) so should i carry the 66-2 or save them all and get a shooter grade?.

Barrel lengths???????
As a general rule target triggers are better for single action and not so great for double action shooting

If you "need to carry a .357"......I'd pick either the 66 -no (unless it has a stainless rear sight) or the 66-1 ..... probably go with the 66-1 as it's my 4" carry 66 ......mine is in nice shape but you can tell mine has been carried.
Stainless is very forgiving if cared for...... but a lot of ex police 66s were not babied.

66-1 2.5
66-2 4.0
66-6 3.0 F or C comp
66-? 4.0 The new one.
Here is the dash 1
The -2
The -6
So what am I shooting? The model 649 of course.
Your choice.

Kind of like; "I'm dating three beautiful women, which do I, uh, kiss?"
So many Mod. 66's, so little time!

Carry the -2
If you ever want to move any of them, you won't have an issue.

I shoot great DA with a target trigger. They are your guns enjoy them. I haven even found a 4 inch 66 I would buy yet.doesn't seem to be many around here and not big on buying off gunbroker. Pick one and shoot it. Your guns enjoy them. Nobody's getting anything out of one sitting in a safe.

Why would you keep 3 guns in a safe you could be enjoying. I guess you aren't a shooter. Guns were made yo be shot. Not left in a safe to be petted with white gloves once a year.

The -1 and -2 are new to me. So they are awaiting their turn at the range. The only K frame that I've carried lately is the 19-5 2.5" that is for sale on our classified Forum.
It being summer the J frames are what are carried. Always have 2 of something when I walk out the door.
When it gets cooler the heavier guns will get carried.
Until I pack up the range bag I am usually not sure what will be fired. Right now it is holding 2 pre-Woodsman .22s.
Thanks for asking. We all like to talk about our guns.

I have some nice guns. Do not have anything that I won't shoot. Can't see leaving something sitting the safe all of the time. Gun (Smith) values keep going up. How much are you going to hurt that value if you take care of it? My opinion only. Bob

I agree pretty silly leaving a gun in the safe when you can get much more enjoyment shooting it without abusing it.
