Default Help from the pros please

A friend of mine showed me his K-18 -3 22 revolver today. I was shocked to see it had been cerakoted. Good job, looks up tight, forcing cone and bbl look good. How much value has been lost with the redo? Thanks

Just my opinion, if it was a collectible gun, I would say 50% value loss. Not collectible, 30%. Again, that's just my opinion based on nothing except what I would be willing to pay

If it was a beater before it probably didn't hurt it a bit. BTW I am only an amateur.

If it's a shooter, it hasn't lost any value and might gain a little for someone who wants a shooter with a durable knockabout finish -- though value does not increase equal to the cost of the cerakoting.

If it was collectible quality...well, it isn't anymore, it's now a shooter.

It's worth what someone wants to pay for a shooter grade Model 18. It's no longer collectible.
