Thanks, I have a mod 66 no dash, bought new, box, etc., sn 9k862xx with the black rear sight, was wondering when was mfg. I bought in later 1970s, but dont remember what year. It has gas ring on yoke. It is a really nice pistol, havent shot it all that I need to.

Also have a excellent mod 19-3, blue, 4in, box, etc, sn 7k63xx, also bought new, cant remember what year. Could anyone tell me the year of mfg on these two pistols? Thanks

I would estimate the Model 66 with 9k prefix around late 1977 and the 7k prefix Model 19 around 1976.

The Model 66 came out in 1970 and is the evolutionary equal of the Model 19-3 ...both have the gas ring on the yoke,

The 19-4 revision relocated the gas ring to the cylinder.
