Default S&W model 40...excellant

I don't fool with J frames much.
Been packin the same old model 37 along
time.
Came across a ANIB Model 40 in the box
mid 70's I suppose.
He is asking $500.00
Neat lookin Smith.

deal or walk ?

If you have use for or just plain like it, $500 is fine for a true ANIB vintage 40.

All the usual checks apply...

Discontinued in 1974. If the box is numbered to the gun I don't think I could pass on the package at $500. Not all that many around; especially ANIB. Good luck.

Well, did you buy it? Last one I saw in SoFl at a gun show 3yrs ago for $650. If the high horn grips match, jump it. Mike 2796

I would be on that like a rat on a Cheeto, and I don't even like J-frames.

It's happened to everybody. I lost out on a Whitney Wolverine and Coonan Cadet the same way. I just wasn't sure if they were good a deals, so I didn't jump. I did some quick research and when I went back, they were gone. At least I knew for the next time. On the flip side, I'm sure another deal will come your way and you will grab it.
