Do you name your favorite gunz - lets see em?
Meet Gwendala - Model 66 - born 1972. She spent a couple of hours on the polishing wheel recently and got some new shoes too... ...one of my absolute favorite gunz...

Sorry, no.
A weapon is an "it" to me. That is a nice 66.

This one came with a name already. It is "Bernie's gun" to me. I picked it up a few years ago. A first year production Highway Patrolman S117xxx. The kind of smooth action that makes a S&W guy get a great big smile. The grips I put on to make Bernie happy....wherever he is.

I don't name guns, knives, flashlights, or other tools. I might name a sword if I pulled it from a stone, or some lady rose from a lake and handed it to me... otherwise, no.
If you do name your gun, and you ever have to use it to kill somebody, I'd advise keeping quiet about the naming.

That cleaned up nice.
I recently came into a model 64 that could use a polish. What products did you use?

Don't get me started. Back when I collected single shot rifles, they all had names. Ditto my full-auto kids. All of those are gone now. I have avoided giving my S&Ws names and really shouldn't.

I have a long tradition of naming my pellet guns, don't know why.
My current specimen- Richard Peltser.

Dogs and cats
Names for dogs and cats are hard enough.
The dog is [ Little Dog ]
The cat is [ Skinny Cat ]
I couldn't find a pic of our #1 dog a Black Lab/ Husky with three eyes. Two brown and one blue. One brown one is for backing up.
His name is [ Blue Dog ]
A long time ago there was "My 45" My .357 " etc. but as the family of Smiths and Colts grew it got confusing.
I still have my Glide. A 2002 HD.

I was but a lad when I got my first handgun, this Model 10 Heavy Barrel, while still in my teens. Back then it seemed cool to name favorite guns so this one became "Mister Thirty Eight," as in: "That's Mister Thirty Eight to you!"
Now some almost 40 years later I scarcely remember naming it and only because of the occasional forum thread on the topic of "Do you name your guns." There was no future in it for someone interested in shooting sports and gun collecting as a hobby so later acquisitions went without names.
Except for this one, mostly for fun. I did name this ratty Colt Model 1905 "Pancho Villa" because it came out of Mexico. Just had to be Villa's personal side arm. At least that's our story and we're sticking to it.
