Default Model 51

I just picked up a Model 51, .22mag. The revolver is about 98-99% with just a very small blueing rubbed off on the muzzle that can barely seen. The serial no. on the butt reads M48698. Does anyone know the date of manufacture and the estimated price. I would appreciate it. A very nice little handgun.

Hey, Paupal. Happy Thanksgiving.
Your serial number puts your 51's ship date between 1971 and 1973.
How 'bout some pics? I'd love to see it.
I wouldn't mind a 651 myself.

Default Mod 51

Thanks for the reply. I think all the 51 series are hard to find, and if one is found, they go for quite a bit of money. Its probably better to try to find a mod 48 as it seems there are more available both used and new. S&W has started to make them again for around the same price I paid for my 51. I'll try to get a photo sent.
