Mod. 13-2 at a PawnShop
Stopped by a local pawn shop just to window shop had no specific gun in mind. A Mod. 13-2 in the case interested me,; no box and it had a set of Hogue rubbers on it. I asked to take the grips off to inspect. Light rust spots under the grips which would show with the correct stocks. Talked them down because of that and walked out the door for $335. I knew I had a set of stocks for it. Ser. # 4D87551. 1979 as I read it which is right in line with the 10-8 I bought last weekend. (Bookends)

Fine looking gun at a great price. The PC magnas you have on it now are very nice.
How come there are no holes in that target?

I would take 10 of them at that price. All of the Model 13's I have owned pinned and non pinned they have all been very good shooters.

Mick:
Nice catch! The 3.0 inch barreled Model 13 was on my grail gun list for many, many years. As you may know, this was the last revolver issued by the FBI to their agents. I finally found a 3.0 inch barreled Model 64-3 at a reasonable price, and bought it thinking this would be as close as I'd ever get to a Model 13. Less than a year later, I traded for this beautiful Model 13-3. Approximately 5 months later, I lucked into the 3.0 inch barreled Model 65 pictured, below. Patience can be a virtue.
Best of luck,
Dave

P&R goodness - you scored!
Mine is a -3.
I wonder what a set of T-Grips or BK grips would do for yours with that magna grip.
I'd bet they would make it mold to your hand.

RANGE REPORT: 10 shots SA, 10 yards, two hand hold.
The cluster at 6 o'clock is using a 6 o'clock hold on the bull. The X ring shots I brought the sight picture into the black. I think my new 13-2 shoots OK!

I bought a hard to find 3" 13 (new) for my then GF back when is was FBI issue... It just felt right. When we split up, she declined to sell it to me.
I had to console myself & when I came on a 3" 66, I grabbed it, which I still have. I carried it a lot Off Duty, hiking & horseback riding. Still I'd like to get another 3" 13.

Unlike girlfriends and streetcars, another Model 13 3" will not be along in a few minutes.
I expect to carry my later production 13 quite a bit once I get it to the range and get a holster for it.

Pardon me, but I don't see any rust spots, and the photo with the target is close up and clear. Great gun!

Hey retired Navy. I just got a 13-2 today. Paid $165 more than you did, but I'm happy. Pictures Monday!

Your story is much like mine, only I found a 64-6 first and a 13-4 two months later from the same dealer. Who also had a 3" 629 for sale.
