Default Model 32-1

I recently purchased a Model 32-1. It was purchased new by a friend of mine around 19868. It is in great condition but it is difficult to get the cylinder to release without significant pressure or jiggling the cylinder back and forth. Any suggestions to correct this problem?

Is the ejector rod tightened down? If it has backed out they will surely tie up the gun.
