Sorry if this is a lame post but I have been all over this forum trying to figure out exactly what I have in this Nickel Model 36 no dash.

Apparently, given the serial number it falls in the "Floating J" range but from what I have found so far, most of those serial numbers are either 6 or 7 digits.

This revolver has a serial number of 1xxJx on the butt and also has "G14" and another different 5 digit stamped on the frame both next to the cylinder and under the grip.

There is also a large "N" stamped on the left side of the frame under the grip and a smaller "N" in a circle as well as a "K" in a triangle on the right side of the frame.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

With the J in the fourth space it is from 1971. The Ns indicate the nickel finish.
