Hi Guys, I thought I would share. I just bought this clean 25-2 from a great guy on the Calguns Forum.. I believe it is a 1980 gun, it has a N805xxx serial number. It is tight with practically zero end shake. I mic 'd the cylinder throats and they all measure between .451 and .452, so, I was stoked when I checked it out. i It should be quite a shooter. Check out the top strap pic near the forcing cone   . We shoot a ton of 45 acp hardball from 1911s, so, this will be a great change with the same ammo ! Enjoy the pics !

WOW---I'M JEALOUS. THAT REVOLVER IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS ! ! ! THE S&W 25 / 625s ARE GREAT GUNS. MY 625 MODEL OF 1989 IN .45 ACP IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE SHOOTERS. I HAVE BEEN SHOOTING 1911s SINCE 1968, BUT THE .45ACP OUT OF A REVOLVER IS A WHOLE NEW AND MOST PLEASANT EXPERIENCE. I AM CERTAIN THAT YOU ARE GOING TO ENJOY YOURS. CONGRATULATIONS…..

The 25-2 is a great revolver. I bought one back in the 80s for target work but the 6 1/2" barrel was a bit too long for PPC. It is still one of my favorite revolvers. I liked it so much I converted a M28-2 to 45 ACP.

It's that purty and you're going to shoot it ? ? ? ?

I was wondering the same thing. I bought a mint Model 617 in a box from a forum member a few months ago. I HAD every intention of taking it out and trying it. Hasn't happened yet...

I picked up my 25-2 yesterday. Mine is in great condition, but yours puts mine to shame. Absolutely beautiful. Why cant there be more of them like that around? Great find.

I love my 25. It is in nice condition but not as nice as yours.

James

Looks to be unfired. Very nice pickup.enjoy that gun while it outshoots your buddies 1911

Maybe it is the most accurate 45 acp ?

It's that purty and you're going to shoot it ? ? ? ?

lol, the problem is that the Cylinder throats measured up between .451 and .4515, they never even got to .452... With the Prestine barrel, forcing cone; perfect timing, ---- and practically zero endshake ----.... It's just too much for an accuracy addict to overcome... I mean, from a rest, maybe it's possible that this revolver could out group my 1911 Wilson Supergrade and all my shooting partners 45 autos ? Now that would be something to talk about at the range..

With the specs on this specimen, the 6 inch barrel, better sight radius, adjustable sights, it has the potential to be the king of 45 acp accuracy. It would be a shame to never expose that.... ------ I gots to know !

I really like mine. I had a 5" 625 Model of 1989 and regret selling it.

My sentiments exactly and why I finally sold it;)
Glad it went to someone in CA who will shot the snot out of it and really appreciate it! Thanks again Harry.

Oh, you can count on that....

Thanks Robert, it was a pleasure to meet you and do business with you. Keep me in mind for those other grails you are hiding ;). I will post up groupings from a rest when the 25-2 gets out of jail and we will see what old school can do. :D

I have a 25-2 that was unfired, NIB.
WAS! That is. It was one of four NIB, unfired S&W's that I bought at an estate sale a few years back. It was 100%, like yours, it just didn't come in the wooden box w/tools. I eventually shot it, and my Model 14.
The two that I haven't shot yet are the 27-2 in the Presentation box and the 19-4, in S/N'd box, both w/tools and paperwork.

The 19 someday, probably. The 27-2...IDK!
The 27-2...

The 19-4...

And a note that I have not seen before...

I never heard of a trigger stop accessory. I think I might have one or two cut out for that. I always thought it was just a lightening cut.
