Default 66-1 firing pin bushing differences

Hello,
New to the forum and new to S&W revolvers in general. I recently picked up a second 66-1, this time a 2.5". When compairing it with my 4", I noticed that the firing pin bushing is different. Are both of these in spec, or is one "wrong"? The one on the 4" has a secondary ring, while the one on the 2.5" does not. Any advice/info is greatly appreciated!

2.5":

Default bushing

A special tool with a spring loaded centering pin is used to stake the bushing. I believe the secondary "ring" in the photo of the 4" gun is the border edge of the bushing itself.....it appears to be slightly above the surface of the breachface. These are normally dressed down prior to finishing, but if it's not causing problems I would leave it alone.

No, it's flush. I think that was just due to the angle I took the photo with.

So would there be any reason the 2.5" does not have that secondary ring? Is there something wrong with it?

As long as the bushing stays in and ammo does not hang up on it, and all the ammo fires normally, then it is working fine and not something to worry about. :-)
