snubnose model 10
I have a model 10 snub nose pistol that I would lie to know the d.o.m., serial#c523XXX. Info would be greatly appreciated.

C523XXX would put shipping sometime in 1961. I'd think it could be stamped as Mod. 10-2 at that time, as that started in 1961. But it could also easily be a no-dash.

Thanks for your help. Also, the markings on the gun are " MOD-10 ", exactly, no extra numbers or dashes. Would you happen to know the value of the gun? I forgot to mention, it is a snub nose. Thanks

Pictures would help a lot to determine a value.
Also overall condition o the gun. Is the original blueing there and how much of it? Does it still have the original stocks? Do you have the original box and tools?

K-frame snubbies have more collector interest vs. longer barrel lengths. And the older, the better. Those relatively few pre-WWII snubbies can command some serious prices. Average condition postwar (pre-1948) snubbies will usually be valued around $500-600. Later ones, in the C and D series, a little less. In general, $450-$550 is realistic for one in pretty good original condition. Nickel plating, original boxes and paperwork will add a premium, as does excellent condition.

Even if it does not have "collector value" due to cosmetic issues, wrong stocks, no box, etc., it may still bring decent money, if in good working order.
