38 Speical 15-2 Ctg Need Help!
Sorry I'm a first time user and not sure if there is other info on this somewhere. I did a trade for a 38 special, Barrel says Smith and Wesson 38 Special CTG. The serial number is 92K0083. I took the grip apart and it matches the 0083. How old is this gun and approx. value?? I have attached a few pics! Thanks for any help

Welcome to the Forum.
The Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson says it was made in 1981. Looks nice. I'd say value is about $500.

Jim,
Thanks for the quick response. I don't plan on keeping so that's why I wanted to know the value!

That serial number would make it a 15-4.
Makes no difference as to value.

If you should decide to keep it, the 15's are fine shooters.
