Welcome to the Forum,
The closest I can come for a shipping date is:
1962 295000
1969 786544
So, if there is no letter "J" in front of the serial# your revolver falls between 1962-1969 somewhere. If there is a letter "J" in front of the serial# it dates to sometime in about 1977.

ok. That is what I thought. I narrowed it down to 1967. In your opinion is this a pretty decent revolver?

Welcome to the Forum!
Can't help you with dates, but can tell you that you have a great little carry gun. Granted I prefer a bobbed or concealed hammer for carry.

Welcome, from Louisville. Stick around, you'll like it here.
And yes, it's an excellent gun for self defense use.
