Combat Masterpiece 15-4 birthdate?
Ser # 20K8933
It looks like the 15-4 spanned 1977-1982 so this may belong in the Younger SW sub-forum.

1977 is as close as I can get with the SCSW, maybe around the fall, if they were shipped in rough numerical order, which isn't always a given. Others may have a tighter time frame. Love the 15.

It is possible yours could have shipped in 1978. Only a factory letter would supply that information.

The SWCA serial ranges while close are IMO not very accurate..
Have seen 16k serials all the way up to 24k serials that all shipped in 1978.
As stated above if you want an exact date you can send $50 for a factory letter that will also say where it shipped to.

S&W 15-4
I am the new owner of 20K8933. This is my first model 15. The gun looks really nice. I have an older Model 10 and a 686 in my small S&W revolver collection. Don't have a good photo yet.
