Ran into an interesting S&W today. What I know:

4" barrel K frame. 5 screw 38 Special with target stocks. Either chrome or nichol but I could almost smell nichol. Bore and chambers definately not as nice as the exterior. Looking under the cylinder star showed slight corrosion. Front and rear sights were chrome/ nichol as well. No model number on the frame but the LGS said its a model 15. The asking price is 6 bills.

The gun has issues and I'm thinking it's been refinished. If it has the finish work was well done (at least on the outside). Could this be a pre model 15?

Yup,it's a refinished pre 15.If it was factory, the extractor star and sights would be blue and the hammer and trigger would be CC.
