Title says it all. Did use a 2 inch for this for years but it is gone. Have a chance at a 3" and wonder if it pocket carries as easy.

It wouldn't for me but I guess it would depend on how big your pockets are.

I don't pocket carry I guess because I couldn't figure out how to get the gun out if I was driving or sitting down in a restaurant or movie or wherever.

Not so much. Just not as comfy as a snub in the pocket. But appendix carry is generally doable even with a fairly acute case of "Dunlop's Syndrome".

Driving isn't an issu. That is a different gun. My every day carry is a 3" model 10 owb holster and I was thinking of going back to pocket carry for warmer weather.

It's actually 1.125" longer when compared to the typical 1.875" snub barrel. I'd stick with the snub for pocket carry.

I had a 3" 60. Not my idea of a pocket gun. Maybe something with fixed sights would be better. I do have to admit I liked the 3" barrel much better than the snub version for shooting.

3" j frames are a bit nicer to shoot than those with barrels less than 2".

The 3" is not for pocket carry.

Pretty much a revolver that needs a belt holster.

No reason not to pocket carry a 3" j-frame. Mine is inmy pocket right now, as I'm sitting here in the optometrist's exam chair. All you need is a fine duct tape Mt Dew carton pocket holster. It helps to bob the hammer.

If S&W ever makes a 3" 340, I'll give it a shot.

I understand the reasons to prefer a three-inch gun over a snub. But I don't really think the longer one is a pocket gun, nor do I feel the all steel snub is a good pants pocket gun.
If possible, carry in a holster.
