Help with the DOB of a 10-5
My uncle just recently picked up a 10-5 with a 6"bbl and is wearing combats.
Mechanically it is great, but has a good amount of holster wear on the left side, along the barrel and cylinder. Legend has it, that the original owner was Boston PD.
The serial # is 05635
Any help with the DOB is greatly appreciated.

I believe that's an assembly number from the yoke cut out.
The serial number is on the butt of the grip frame and should start with a letter, for a 10-5 likely C or D.

could you please re-check the serial number on the butt. A Mod10-5
usually has the letter C or D before the number. Mike 2796

You are correct, that is number is from the yoke. I will look on the butt and update the thread.
Thank you.

If it's a Boston PD gun it should have B.P.D. with numbers after, stamped on the backstrap.
