Barrel length and a description of the finish loss (degree, depth, location) would help with a value estimate - it would be somewhere between $250 - 450 depending on the definition of "some bluing wear".
I'll second murphydog's 1970 response regarding date. I also tend to agree with murphydog's guestimate of value but in my neck of the woods add about $50-150 to his values, so $350 to $600 depending on barrel length, originality, and condition. Pictures would help narrow it down.
