Questions about a Jovino 45ACP Revolver.
To start at the beginning yesterday a neighbor was visiting at the house, he is “hunter class’’ has a couple rifles and shot guns no handguns. He said his cousin was possibly going to sell a couple revolvers in the future (possibly Memorial time) and asked me I would be interested. He said he had a Jovnivo 45ACP with what he thought was a 2'' or 2 ˝’’ barrel.
To be honest I do not know that much about that gun so any and all help would be appreciated. I do know how to check out revolvers before I buy them, but I do not know what markings (if any) to look for. What grips were stock on this model? Are there different models of that gun with one being worth more than another.
He said the gun is excellent, that is up to me to determine. Any ballpark figures on what the gun is possibly worth.
Thanks

If the gun is really clean and truly a Jovino I saw one sell couple of years back for $1,700.00 which made me feel good as I have $1,100.00 in mine they don't often come up.

A decent Jovino will bring $1500 most days. Jovino converted large (N), square butt S&Ws into round butted snubbies. Mine is 45 Colt, my son has 45acp and a 44 mag versions. The workmanship is excellent. The original lock on the end of the ejector rod is removed and a ball & detent is added by the crane. Here's mine, S&W factory letter confirms it was shipped to Jovino. In the 3rd and 4th photos you can see the ball detent in the front of the frame where it connects with the crane. The grips are modified SB grips. There would probably be a number of interested buyers-including me-if you aren't interested.

I paid under $1,000 for mine a couple of months ago. Only problem with it was whoever took it apart the last time but it back together with the rear sight tab on TOP of the notch instead of below so the rear sight was way too high. Just took the top sight off, put it back on correctly and it was all good. Shoots very nicely and I feel I got one hell of a deal on it. Mine is a 2 5/8 barrel I believe.
