S&W 38 spl believe to be model 36 ?'s
I need help with ID, age and value range, thanks in advance.
No model designation, just says 38 SPL, faint hint of a cylinder turn ring. Only bluing wear is on the trigger guard. Bore and rifling excellent.

Model designation should be stamped on the frame, under the yoke and below the barrel lug.
Appears to be a model 36, and according to the Standard Catalog, dates to around 1977.

ID - a Model 36 (which should be stamped in the yoke cutout of the frame, visible with cylinder open)
Age - likely shipped in 1977
Value - $400 - $450 for gun only w/aftermarket grips
