Model 28 Front Sights
Were the front sights on the M28 forged integral with the barrel? It sure looks like it on mine. I was looking to replace it years ago but was not able to do so.

Can't say for sure one way or the other, but I had a 6" barrel shortened to 5" and the 'smith (Dave Chicoine) used the original front sight for me, and he did a fantastic job.
