Default My First 27-2!

Walked through The Winston Salem NC gun show yesterday and scored a really nice lightly used Model 27-2 from a local dealer. It is a 6" with correct grips, I think. No box but for $600.00 it was no real issue.
My first but hopefully not my last Model 27.

One of the first 357s I bought was a M27-2. It is still in my possession, but it is the only 357 I currently own. You have a very nice, classic, revolver.

You did quite well! If you plan on keeping it as a shooter the box would little to me. I have a 28 no dash from 1960. It is a 6" also. You should love the way it shoots. Enjoy that BEAUTY! Bob

Wow that's a nice Smith. I've be after a 27 for quite a while, but there quite scares in Ontario it seems as most guys bought 28's so there are almost no 27's around. But that one you've got look a like a gem. I know you'll enjoy it.

You stole it and hopefully you will take it to the range and enjoy it. The only Problems with Model 27-2's is that they are addictive.

$600 is what he told his wife -- so now he's just keeping his story straight.

Right before logging on I was telling myself I have too many guns and should sell some, maybe including a couple of my 27s. Then I see how excited others are to find one and I reconsider...

A good decision that could be the tip of a slippery slope. I started with just one, now I have five.

My favorite 357 is my 19/66 2.5"s; however, to my mind the quintessential 357 mag is a 27-2/28-2 6".

paragain- Vast majority of 27s over 5" came with Patridge sites.

Dr.Lou- The 27 was the top of the line deluxe revolver and the 28 was a plain Jane service revolver. They should not be grouped together as equals.
