Default M10-7 find...

Found this little jewel at a LGS (sorry for the crummy cell phone pics), it looks 95%+ and the grips are numbered to the revolver. Barrel is pinned but cylinders not recessed. SN is 6D560XX... any guess at a dob? I gave it a quick cleaning and it appears to me not to have been shot? I've never had a nickle revolver so what should I use/not use to clean it with? Oh yea... $475.00 OTD.

That would be 1980, nice looking piece and a price I would pay in a heartbeat . Some folks like Flitz polish which I have used on SS, it comes in a tube and is blue in color. For a toned down but equally nice results I prefer Ren Wax for ease of use. Some folks even like Johntsons paste wax. Happy Trails

Looks better than 95% to me but I'm no expert. I have the same gun from 1979 that my wife bought me as a birthday present about 10 years ago. I added the stocks a couple years ago.

The case hardened hammer and trigger really set it off nicely. Part of me says shoot it (sparingly) and the other part says it's too pretty to shoot... if there is such a thing.

Dude, it's a Model 10. It ain't rare, it ain't that old, and it ain't that valuable. It is also no virgin. It's been shot. You want to put it away so that somebody you'll never meet will have it 50 years after you're gone? Screw him. Let him find his own gun. You enjoy this one.
