Default my model 36 nickel

here is a model 36 nickel i picked up the other day. it is hard to get good photos because it shines so. the gun is beautiful and looks almost unfired but i have no way of knowing for sure.

i see no evidence of a screwdriver ever being on a screwdriver on a screw. the gun has no marks i can see. i did take the grips off to check sel. no. and they are numbered to the gun it is a pin barrel with a j prefix.

here is the thing, i am a user and not a collector and i don't want to shoot this one it is just to nice. i would like to sell the it but i don't know what it is really worth other than what someone will pay. any ideas what i should ask for it? is there someone here that wants to make an offer?

thanks for the info...

It looks like it's a 1976 M36. I would think around $650 - $750 You should post it here in the WTS forum/thread.

THAT IS A GORGEOUS REVOLVER, THE VALUE OF WHICH CAN ONLY BE DIMINISHED SIGNIFICANTLY BY SHOOTING OR CARRYING. IMHO, YOU ARE TAKING THE BEST COURSE OF ACTION BY SELLING IT, RATHER THAN USING IT. OF COURSE, IF YOU ARE A YOUNG MAN, AND YOU DON'T NEED THE MONEY, YOU SHOULD CONSIDER JUST LEAVING IT IN THE SAFE, AND LETTING IT APPRECIATE IN VALUE…..

IN MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, AND FROM WHAT I READ, FEWER AND FEWER S&W REVOLVERS ARE SHOWING UP ON GUN SHOW TABLES AND LGS SHELVES. CURRENT PRODUCTION SEEMS TO BE CENTERED ON THE SEMI-AUTO PISTOL LINE. WHEELGUNS ARE A THING OF THE PAST, SAVE FOR US OLD TIMERS THAT LOVE THEM…..
