Default Local Pawn Shop Find

Found a Model 58 at LPS today. It was so cruddy inside the trigger would not return. Hammer on single action would fall very slowly. Tight lock up, no end shake or cylinder turn. 4 inch bbl. About 90% bluing left. Can anyone gestimate a value. They were asking $650.00. There was no push off.

In my area that would be a good price in the condition it is. Cleaned up about $50 to $100 more. Better condition $800-$1000.

Sounds alittle high to me. I would offer $500 and be happy at $550-$600 OTD.

Always keep in mind that the Pawn Shop only has $150-$200 in the gun (if that much). I have several friends who own PS around here. With what you say about the hammer barely dropping and the cruddy condition of the gun, I would have so much room the laugh and haggle with them. Be ready to walk. If you don't like the seller, never go back. If you've developed a good relationship with the seller, you should be able to take the gun home for $400 or maybe $450.
