Jes' a Plain Ol' 10-5
It was advertised on a local S&S at a fair price. I did an "I'll take it if we can meet halfway." It was about 70 miles one-way. He said he would knock $25 off if I would come get it. I knew it would be at least two weeks, so I offered to send him a PMO and pick it up when I could. It turned into three-plus weeks, but the it was worth the wait. Shot it just a few minutes ago. Shoots just like an early 70s S&W. That's an old Bucheimer holster and an extra t-grip I found in the junk sack.
By the way, this is the last one. Really. That's two nice K-frames in six days. Enough. Collection complete. Broke.

That is a nice looking revolver. It would look twice as nice with a set of Grashorn stag socks on it.

Can't Have Too Many
Yup, that's it. . .just a plain old 10-5. Just like the ones we carried back in the 1970's. One of the best and best looking handguns Smith ever made. Picked this one up last year (2014) for $250 at a local pawn shop. I buy every one I see if it's nice. You can't go wrong especially since the new Classics M10 has an MSRP of around $800.

Nice!
Nice! I like the whole set up. The T Grip and cross draw holster are very appropriate! I always liked the tapered barrel on Model 10/64 Revolvers. Enjoy that one!

That's a beauty. You did great on that one.
That was my first center fire hand gun. Bought it new when I went on a PD. $65.00

Are they not the most beautiful revolver ever made? If you collect and dont have one, get one. You will not be sorry.

Interesting you should bring that subject up. My great-grandfather was almost certainly involved in that fight. My grandfather on my mom's side was half Lakota Sioux. His dad was a warrior under Sitting Bull. I listened to many stories about them when I was a young lad.

As a kid, I talked to an old, old Oglala Sioux at Cheyenne Frontier Days. About 10 years ago I found out his Indian name and learned that he had participated in the battle as a young man.
Sure would have liked to talked him knowing what I know now.

Ten years ago was 2005. Battle of the Little Big Horn was 1876 - 129 years before. Wow - he was REALLY REALLY REALLY old!

I believe Iggy said he talked to the guy when Iggy was a kid. That was a lot more than 10 years ago. The 10 year reference was to when he discovered the guy's name.
But even 40 years ago, the Indian would have been old, I'll grant you that.
Well, I guess we've done enough damage to this thread. I'm finished now . . .

I'm 72, Wooden Leg (Dewey Beard) was probably in his 80's
I found out his real name, not the one assigned to him by the BIA just a few years ago.
Now back to our regularly scheduled programming..

A couple years back, the pastor of the little country church my family has attended for the past 112 years told me an interesting fellow had broke down and camped in the parking lot for several nights. Said the fellow was hauling a HD motorcycle behind an old truck. The truck broke down, and the guy chased down parts on the cycle till he got the truck fixed. Anyhow, the preacher said the guy told him his great, or maybe great-great grandfather was an officer in the 7th, and had been at Little Bighorn. I asked the preacher if he remembered the name. "Yeah, I believe it was Reno."

Last one...if the wife hasn't heard that a half dozen times...
As many as were made, they tend to all make excellent shooters.
