Default 28-2 Clean Up Complete

I'm finally done. It's still a 95% gun. I couldn't change that. It has new screws. The awful trigger boot has been removed. It did leave a slight mark on the trigger. Totally cleaned and polished. Still a few light marks on left side above the cylinder release. I did take it by the pawn shop where I bought it. I told them I would when I was done with it. It was difficult convincing them that it was the same gun I had bought the day before. I know I got it cheap ($370) and that makes me even happier. I'll get my ski mask back out again next week when I hit the local shops again.

That 28-2 cleaned up nice. $370 is about halfway between free or stealing and a good deal so good for you. With your luck I'd wager the grips are numbered to the gun.

Do those grips number to the gun? I don't think it should have PC Magnas on it, but if they number to the gun that is cool! Nice job cleaning it up.

You do good work, but if you keep going back to your LGS to show them the results they are going to charge you more money for these items.

I did not take "before" pictures and I really wish I had. I was in such a rush to tear it down and find out what I had gotten myself into this time. I brought it into the house last Thursday, threw it down on the island in the kitchen, and told my wife to look at what I had picked up today. She told me it looked horrible. Actually the nice folks in the pawn shop admitted it looked bad too. You have to be able to see through all the dirt and crud and scotch tape when you buy a gun. This gun did actually have scotch tape stuck to it in several places. It is good that my wife has always really liked handguns. She will tell you that it's better than money in the bank, and encourages me to buy all I can find.
