I am trying to find out the value of my .38 spl airweight model 37. Serial number is j850390.

Welcome to the forum.
We can't help you much without some idea of condition. What model, 2" or 3" barrel?
We also need a picture.
What you are asking is sort of like asking what is the value of a Chevy pickup -- without know the mileage and condition.

I just cleaned one up for my son-in-law yesterday evening. It belonged to his father and was purchased in 1972. I told him it was in the range of $400-$500. So, it looks like we all agree on the value of your gun.
