Beat up truck revolver
Just got it today.
Must have been reblued but bad rust under the grips, looks like it never had the inside cleaned.
$205 + shipping & transfer.
M10-5 2" S/N has it as early 1975.
All the way from PR and it looks like an island gun.
Has a good DA & SA now and don't care if it's ugly!

Everybody needs a truck gun or two. Only requirement is that they function as designed . . . Looks like a keeper.

It looks pretty good to me. If it shoots half way decent you got a steal. I bet it cleans up nice.

I bet there are far more truck guns
on this forum than trucks. I love it.

What's an island gun? Been on an island corroding in the ocean air?
As many posts as I've seen about guns stolen vehicles, I dunno that I'd leave one in the truck.

Great rescue. For $200, not a bad buy.

When the NYPD went to semi autos in 1993, cops with revolvers were selling their guns like crazy for nothing. DAO guns like the Model 64, 60, 640, and Rugers Police Six and GPNY were commonly sold for 100 bucks, including leather duty gear and speed loaders. Some guys who retired literally left them in their open locker and told anyone who wanted it to go get it. Blued Model 10's and 36's would go for like $125. Guys couldn't wait to unload them to buy their Glock 26 off duty piece.
I should have bought them all and tripled my money. How times change! Try to find a 640 for under 400, even if it is in 38 special!

You pretty much guessed it. Some islands are so humid that you need to wipe and oil a gun about every couple of minutes or orange fuzz starts showing up.

The local GT Distributors was selling Puerto Rico Police handgun turn-ins (largely revolvers) last year. I purchased a 4.0 inch barreled stainless steel Ruger Security Six at a good price. A friend of mine who is from Puerto Rico told me that on the island, anything metal has about a 5 year long lifespan. I stripped my Ruger down to the frame and found a bit of rust under the rear sight, as well as on the rear sight adjustment screws. By the way, one of my greatest fears is that someone steals one of my firearms and uses it to hurt an innocent person. I agree with Jtcarm and wouldn't leave the piece unsecured in a vehicle.
Regards,
Dave

I like a 2" K-frame. The ones I have shot have all been more accurate than I ever imagined them to be. Great guns!

I got a 2.5" 66-1 that way. At some point in the past, the rear sight must have been damaged, because it has a rear sight from a .38 instead of the original. Looks a bit funny with the gap because of the shorter sight tang, but it's been working okay so far.
