Default 38 Revolver

I inhereited a 38 revolver and I am looking for its age. I believe this was purchased and came from the Kansas City Police department. The serial number is on the butt of the gun. C204772. Anyone help me with this?

The SCSW dates your gun to between 1948 and 1951. Someone may be along later to provide a more precise time frame

It's a Military & Police Model probably from 1950-51. This is a K frame revolver and in 1957 it becomes the Model 10. You don't mention barrel length but 4 & 6" were likely most common, with 2 & 5" also popular.

Welcome to the FORUM! When asking for info on a gun, it is helpful to give as much information as possible. Makes things easier. Pics are helpful, and we all like to see them. Have you shot it yet? Bob
