S&W Model 45-2 4" .22lr price
So I found a very nice S&W 4" Mod 45-2 .22lr Post Office gun. Gun has original box PPW and everything. The price is $2200 out the door and guns 95-98%. Definitely nothing that I will shoot. How's this price sound and is it a good piece to buy and put up. I'm 32 now so it is more of an investment hopefully. I know not many guys my age or younger are Revolver guys.
Thanks for any info or imput

I would say that at the price it is a reasonable buy. It certainly isn't likely to do anything but go up in value.
If it truly is in 95-98% condition I might even be tempted to send a round down range from time to time. With proper care it shouldn't even show that it has been used a little. Not many can say they have shot a Model 45.

At that price, if you don't want it send it my way. I got a fellow S&W collector a 6 inch Model 45, marked Boston Police Department gun for $2000. It had no box.

Just think...30 years after you're dead it will be worth a fortune.

And here what one looks like a la carte. Mine has been out to play more than a few times.

Very fair price in that condition.
When I bought my nickel one, a blue was available right next to it, but he was asking more than your deal.
It looks better in person

My Model 45-2
I found my NIB Model 45-2 back in the old Shot Gun News back in the mid 1980's and only paid $495 plus shipping it for it. My main interest has been S&W 22's and I needed this Model for my collection. I also found a 6" pre-Model 45 at a gun show in Syracuse in the early 1990's that was an old Boston Police training gun, which was really beat up, and I later traded it even up for an original Model 39 ASP. I still have the Model 45-2 pictured below. If I was to ever sell it, I would start it out at $2500 on an auction site. I think the price for the gun you describe is a great deal. They are a neat gun, which will always increase in value.
