Default Gifted Model 36

A friend just gave me a Model 36 that needs a new hammer. Based on the serial number it was manufactured in '69 (as best as I can tell). The cool thing is the box and all paperwork is intact. in addition there is a half of an old bank counter check (for youngsters counterchecks were left at check writers for customers to use sans account number, all you needed was a signature...ahhh, the good old days). Anyway, on the back of the half check is a notation as to the cost of the 36, a box of
.38's and sales tax. The notation reads: Pistol: $89.95, tax: $4.50 Shells: 5.25 (no tax), Total: $99.70. The box has the serial number, barrel length, etc. written on the end. It is one of the old "Bangor Punta" boxes. The cleaning rod (still in a plastic sleeve), an instruction sheet, warranty card and an NRA solicitation card is also included. What a look back at history, I love it! What a gift, thanks, friend...

The firing pin was intentionally filed down. Sadly, a relative did it to avoid doing harm to himself. My friend is not a gun person and wanted it taken away. I will post pics asap; thanks guys.
