Pawn shop 10-6
I've never owned a nickel Model 10. Then I saw this poor little orphan at a local pawn shop a few days ago. Picked it up for $385. I figured it was worth that as a shooter, and I haven't had a 10-6 for several years . . .
Someone trimmed the hammer spur - did a nice job, btw. Lots of scratches in the nickel, but when I find my missing tube of Flitz, I think I can make a lot of that go away.

Is that a .357? Pretty nice shape looks good to me for what you paid. I like fixed sight Smiths.

Nope. Just a standard Model 10 .38 Special. Most of the 10-6 revolvers were chambered for the .38 Special.

That's cool. I thought they made some 10-6s in .357 before introduction of the model 13.
Love to find one.

Yes they did. When the NY State Police wanted a fixed sight K frame revolver chambered for the .357 Magnum, S&W made a special run of the Model 10-6 but with a counter-bored cylinder and charge holes long enough for the magnum cartridge.
After it proved to be a successful variation, it got the Model 13-1 designation (there was never a no-dash Model 13).

I don't like....
I don't like Nickel guns, but for that price just to have a model 10 I wouldn't hesitate to scoop it up.

Very nice. I just picked up a nickel 10-5 in almost new condition at a gun show a couple of months ago.

I am not a big fan of nickel either, but I bought this one years ago because it was in such great condition (but dirty!) and the price was under $250 OTD, IIRC.
It cleaned up to Like New and is a great shooter.

Nice gun, I own one just like it. A 4" model 10 just fits my (small) hands so well , the balance, feel, even better then a 1911.

Great revolver! I have been looking for one of those for years. I may have to just give up and buy an M13.

I had a 10-6 over stamped to 13-1. I foolishly traded it away years ago.

Please don't ask about what I've traded away! And what little I got in return.
