1976 vintage Model 28-2.
About as clean as they come. No visible wear.
Very faint turn line. Lock up like a vault.
Was wearing the smooth Targets I had
some magnas layin around.

Hard to pass up a good deal, they are getting rare as hens teeth. I just stumbled into a 27-3 for $800 and had the nerve to ask the guy if he would go any lower.....and he did. I walked out with the 27 and went and bought a few lotto tickets since it was apparently my only lucky day.
That's a beautiful 28. Is it going to ride in the safe or are you going to put it through it's paces?

As far as packin it....no.
If I carry a N frame(weight) the caliber
begins with 4.

Yeah, the N Frames always pull my pants down and I don't own a shoulder holster.

Congratulations! Looks like you got a really, really nice one. Just my opinion, but I'd put those targets back on it. They appear to be in excellent condition, just like your gun

I certainly would have picked it up myself! When it comes to pawn shops we are challenged in my area. I have RARELY seen a Smith worth buying. Enjoy your 28! Bob

Very nice. A great revolver. I scored one myself just a few days ago.

So did my former girlfriend...except now I call her my wife
An N-frame will pack just fine on the hip with the right rig. And pants that fit in the first place

A 6 inch model 28 was the very first new S&W I bought back in the 70s. Have many more Smiths now and enjoy them all.

Very nice find. The 28-2 4" was my first S&W wheel gun a couple of years ago. It started my revolver love and I appreciate them more than before.
