I need to stop visiting the LGS!
Picked up this 67 no dash this morning. It's S/N of 5K5XXXX dates it to some time in 1972.
Not the original box, sadly but still a nice box.
It looked lonely, so...

Judging from the picture, you need to visit more.

Great find you made at you local LGS! Providing a new forever & loving home for orphaned wheel guns is a very humanitarian endeavor. The ones we choose or choose us are the ones that won't be abused or forgotten. They will be cleaned, properly fed, exercised often, cleaned again, and put to bed with a tender cress. Every time regardless of the adoption fees it's always well worth the cost. Before you close your eyes at night, smile and think "that was a great thing I did today".
If it wasn't for women and buying guns (mostly S&W's) I'd be a millionaire.

I know what you mean. I need to stay out of the pawn shops. Lately there have been to many I could not resist. They set there begging me to give them a loving home. You may have saved a nice gun from a terrible life. Good job.
I don't think your going to get much help here.

Nice looking revolver I would love to have. Hey, are the trigger, hammer, front and rear sights "flash chromed" (or whatever the heck S&W called it)? Just looks like that from the picture.

That's a beauty. I acquired one recently that's been modded a bit, polished and butt rounded, but I love it. I like the factory satin finish on yours better.

YOU COULDA DONE MUCH WORSE.
That's the kind of stuff we all need to follow us home. I went against my own advice of not buying retail, just last Friday. When the heart says yes & the brain & wallet say no, my heart usually wins. Better to ask for forgiveness than permission IMO. You can't stay in the dog house forever, can you?

After reading a post on a different forum, I went back and rechecked the S/N in the SCoSW.
This one is from 1972, not 1974.
Looks like S&W used multiple S/N ranges with in the same year from 1970 through 1975.

I'm glad I stopped at the lgs not long ago. Picked up my 67 no dash from 1973 for $399.

Very cool 67! You never know what you will find at LGS. With me I NEVER find anything! Oh well. I have a no dash from 1973. Still has rear stainless sights as yours does. They shoot great, don't they? Enjoy it! Bob

A very nice snag indeed! I know what you mean, I've been staying out of em too attempting to avoid temptation. However two weeks or so ago my shooting bud Big Fred lured me out. Wound up bringing back an older NIB Colt AR-15! So much for will power.

The hammer and trigger are flash chromed carbon, but the front and rear sights are actually stainless. S&W only did this for a few years on the Models 66 and 67 -- makes yours a little less common.

Correct on the sights, but I believe the only stainless triggers and hammers S&W used were on early run Model 60s, and were quickly phased out.
