66-1 Date of Manufacture
Hello all! I just received a new to me S&W model 66-1, four inch, serial # 47K9xxx yesterday after Smith and Wesson was closed for the holiday.
When was this great gun made/shipped, etc?

Mike, I just picked up a 66-1 also -- a North Carolina State Highway Patrol engraved one that was either an issued gun or a retirement gift, in a wood S&W presentation box with blue velvet inside. Not a commemorative. Mine's 69K4xxx, so I'm thinking it's probably a younger brother of yours. Anybody have ideas on birth date?
Can't wait to shoot this beauty of a 4" K-frame in .357 Magnum!
