Model 19-3: Are my trigger & hammer correct?
The hammer and trigger on my recently acquired 6" 19-3 (circa 1973) look rather "stainless steely" to me ... no coloring at all. Are they correct/original? Thanks.

Just to hazard a guess is the best I can do without this handgun on my workbench; IMHO, it looks like the gun has been taken apart and while it was apart the hammer and trigger were lightly polished. That will take the case hardening color off very quickly. But, I think that those are correct for this handgun. ............

I tend to agree - it looks like they have been polished, based on your pictures.
I'm actually writing because I cannot resist remarking how beautiful those GA target stocks are! Great grain!!!

Those GAs are pretty. Just buy a new hammer and trigger and put your mind at ease. That is a nice gun.

Stocks to die for . . .
Here is the nicest pair I have. They came on this Combat Masterpiece Model 15-2 that was a gift from my late father, may he rest in peace.

You have to marvel at the wood S&W use to use. Then look at the "pallet"
wood they went to.
