Default K. 32 Masterpiece Model 16-2 .32 S&W long

How many of this model were made in single action variation only?

Never seen any numbers on that but I'm sure it's only a handful. It's not hard to convert a K frame to SA and many factory kits were sold as drop in items.
Really, the only way to find out if your gun was factory SA is to get a factory letter from S&W.

This is true. However, if you have the original box, the odds increase if SA is handwritten on the end label.
So far as I know there weren't any regular production Model 16 revolvers made in SAO like there were in the Model 14-2 and 14-3 range. Those were made from 1961 until 1978, per Roy's letter to me on mine (I own two). It is, of course, possible there were some .32 Masterpiece revolvers that were factory SAO, but I'll bet there weren't many.

Since there weren't THAT many Model 16-2s in the first place, the less-than-common factory SA option would be an outlier within a rarity. I think you have a most unusual gun there. I'd love to just get to play with one like it for a while, just to say I had done it!

Smile Jinks confirms Model 16 is factory single action only

I received a letter from Mr. Jinks dated November 7 2015 confirming model 16-2 was shipped from factory on April 8,1965 as a single action only. It remains unfired since shipped.

I'd say you hit the rarity jackpot but I don't know how much it is worth.
