Picked up a 18-3
I found a great looking model 18-3 at the local gun store yesterday. The less than stellar cell phone photo doesn't do it justice, too much glare. The finish is just about pristine, with only a little wear around the end of the muzzle. Serial number 5K71078... any ideas about the year of production?

It appears according to the SWSC to be a 1973 gun.

It appears the stocks are from an earlier gun. Check the serial under the right stock.

I think you'll really enjoy this gun. I have an 18-4, illustrated below, and probably shoot it as much or more than any other revolver in my collection. It provides affordable practice in lieu of the centerfire K-frames, and it's quite a lot of fun. These are getting more scarce every day, so you lucked out.
