Approx. value?--1975 NIB K22 8-3/8"
More than 40 years ago I bought 2 8-3/8" K-22 revolvers, shot one a little (still have it), greased the other with RIG and put it in a glass-topped display. Apart from periodic re-greasing it has remained there, never shot or turned. Still have the box in like new condition with contents. Now up in age, I don't need 2 and was wondering what you fellows thought it was worth. I know what the value guides say but these days that is not always a good indication. thanks for any info.

I'm going to take a SWAG and say with all the goodies approaching $1000. Maybe even more. I have not seen one NIB, so I'm sort of extrapolating. Others will chime in, I'm sure.

I'd give it an easy $1250 and probably more.

Sounds a bit high to me DocB, but for someone looking for the more rare 8 3/8" bbl NIB they might spend it.
Personally I'm partial to 4 or 6 inch bbls on .22 Revolvers, but I realize that is strictly a personal preference.

Would the next line be, "We dare you..."?

Easily $800-900, and a lot higher in an online bidding war.

First off, let's be sure what we're talking about. Are we talking about a Model 17-3 bought new in 1975 or are we talking about an earlier model 17 bought in 1975? Also, I assume this is a blue finish?
The Model 17-3 was made 1967 - 1977.
8-3/8" barrel was introduced in 1958.
If we are talking about a model 17-3 I think the two price estimates, $1000 and $1250, are both about right. $1000 if it has standard trigger, hammer, and grips but $1250 if the 3 T's (target trigger, target hammer, and target grips). If it's an earlier 4-screw, diamond grip model then add to these estimates.
