There have been a couple of threads lately about scoping revolvers. This has rekindled an old bug that's been crawling around in my brain for a few years now. I'm gettin' older and my eyes sure ain't what they used to be. I'm thinking some sighting help may be in order.
I do own a few semi-autos with either a scope or red dot on them and find this helps quite a bit.
I have several revolvers that are likely candidates for optics, but all are older models that are not factory drilled and tapped. Some of these have some collector value and I sure don't want to be drilling extra holes in them.
So my questions are who makes the best no gunsmithing optics mount for S&W revolvers? Do the ones with clamps harm the finish? What has or hasn't worked for you?
