Picked up a Bangor Punta box today thinking it was for a Model 41/52 by the size. Got it home and its 2" longer than my Model 41/52 boxes. There is a stamped date on the underside of the top of Aug 16, 1978. The end label was missing.
The picture showing compared to a model 41 box behind it.
The dimensions are 16"X 7-1/2" X 1-3/4".
So, it must be for a long barrel revolver??
Anybody see a box this size before?

Most likely for a semi-auto with both magazines removed and wrapped individually.

Jet boxes were similar.

You may be right. I have a 6" Model 53 jet and the box length is 14", so maybe the 16" box would work for a 8-3/8" jet.

The smaller box looks like the one my M39 came in back in the day.

May we assume that the box is totally empty? If so,I'll go along with previous posters in guessing that it's for the long-tubed Model 53.
