Default appropriate holster

I am going to post this here, even though my specific gun is a 24-3. Lets face it I'm never going to be able to afford a 1950 Target, but I could afford a 4" 24-3.

What is the "appropriate" holster for such a gun? By appropriate I mean "historically appropriate." I have owned a number of great CCW and hip holsters and would be happy to buy another, but I feel this fine six-gun deserves something special.

Is an El Paso Saddlery Tom Three person the way to go?

I've got a 1950 Target, a Model 24-3 and a Model 624, all with 4 inch barrels. I carry them and other 4 inch N frames in either a lined Bianchi model 5BHL or a lined Safariland model 29. These are heavy leather, high ride, slight butt-forward cant, have thumb break retention flap covering the hammer, can be had in black or tannish-brown and basket weave pattern pressed on them.

Both companies make belts to fit these holsters with or without cartridge loops. I prefer a separate belt slide with cartridge loops, either 6 or 12.

I don't know the quality level of the items made by these firms now, as I bought my revolver holsters years ago when quality was high.

An El Paso Tom Threepersons rig would serve your gun well and they may have wider range of stamped embellishment patterns. Or look at Milt Sparks in Idaho City, Idaho. I love their leather.
